Austin Traditional Jazz Society celebrates its 50th anniversary promoting music from the birth of the jazz era, from the heart of New Orleans through Chicago, and the rest of America.

For the second concert of our golden anniversary, the Austin Traditional Jazz Society will present the Violet Crown Serenaders in concert on Sunday, October 18, from 2 to 4:45 pm. This great band specializes in the dance music of the 1920s. They are led by drummer, Dave Bedrich. The Serenaders are a favorite with Austin jazz fans and swing dancers.

Come and see the fun at Ben Hur Shrine Temple at 7811 Rockwood Lane, off Anderson Lane near MoPac. There is plenty of free parking at Ben Hur. The hall contains a large dance floor. Snacks, beer, wine and sodas are available. Patrons can bring their own food. ATJS concerts are family friendly.

Concerts are free to ATJS members. Guests may enter for $12 and college students with ID and members of the Austin Jazz Society are $5.
