A.T.J.S. Presents:
La Grosse Tete

La Grosse Tete

Sunday, June 9, 2019
at Capital City

La Grosse Tete returns to the Austin Traditional Jazz Society stage on June 9. As one of the only swing dancer-inspired traditional jazz bands in Austin, La Grosse Tete has played for the Austin Swing Syndicate, Four on the Floor (a local swing dance company), and at various venues, festivals, parties and special events in the Greater Austin Area. We strongly believe this lively
music was intended for dancing--you will surely feel that driving beat that will make you want to tap your feet!! If you love hot jazz, you will love La Grosse Tete!

This will be our last concert for the season and this is sure to end the season on a high note.

Please join us Sunday, June 9 at Cap City Comedy Club from 2 to 5 pm. Doors open at 1:00 pm.

La Grosse Tete is a seven-piece band led by banjoist and swing dance instructor Johnny Serrano. David Jellema, one of the best jazz cornetists to be found anywhere, shows his versatility on clarinet. Dave Stoddard plays valve trombone. Sean Newton and Luke West play cornet and trumpet. Bill Troiano plays tuba. Swing dance instructor Sally Matsumae plays washboard.
