A.T.J.S. Presents:
La Grosse Tete

La Grosse Tete

Sunday, February 11, 2018
at Capital City

The Austin Traditional Jazz Society presents La Grosse Tête on Sunday, February 11 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Cap City Comedy Club, 8120 Research Boulevard, Austin. Formed in early 2013 to play a single gig for Mardi Gras, this New Orleans-inspired traditional jazz band has carved out a solid reputation with music lovers and swing dancers all over Austin.

La Grosse Tete is a seven-piece band led by banjoist and swing dance instructor Johnny Serrano. David Jellema, one of the best jazz cornetists to be found anywhere, shows his versatility on clarinet. Dave Stoddard plays valve trombone. Sean Newton and Luke West play cornet and trumpet. Bill Troiano plays tuba. Swing dance instructor Sally Matsumae plays washboard.
